Town Clerk’s Office


Members Present: Jes Alexant, Marshall Ploof, Mark Brouillette, water system operator and Sara Rainville (secretary).


Guests: Peter Magnant, select board member.


Meeting called to order at 6:01 p.m. by Jes Alexant. Pledge of allegiance was recited.


Agenda Amendments:



Public Comment:

Peter stated that he has a leak in his basement and will need the water shut off at the curb at his house on Friday, December 15, 2017 by 9:00 a.m. to make the repairs.  The repairs are scheduled to be done that day by his plumber. Mark will make arrangements to be in Town.


Approve Minutes:

Jes/Marshall made the motion to approve the November 13, 2017 minutes, all in favor; motion passed 2-0.


Treasurer’s Report & Budget Prep:

Sara presented the water commissioners with a trial balance report for FY18; checking account balance $45,034.75.


A warrant with supporting invoices totaling $459.86 was submitted for review and signatures by the members.


The water budget for FY19 is due to the select board by end of December 2017; Sara will work on a draft and send to Jes for him to complete.


Water Sampling:

Samples done 11/28/2017 and 11/30/2017 by Mark; the collection methods and results were discussed. Mark stated the system currently looks good, he has done the assessment as required by the State and will be sending it in to them. The December 2017 samples to be collected were discussed.


Letter from the State of Vermont on CCR was discussed; Jes and Sara will complete the required form and send back to the State with a copy of the CCR that was sent out to system users with July 1, 2017 bills.



-Curb stop still needs to be installed at the place Gary Cooper is renting on Hanna Road.


Town Report:

Jes is working on the Water District Report for the Town report, he will have it to the Town Clerk’s Office by the end of the month.


Water System Upgrade Update:

Jes has spoken to John Kiernan at Otter Creek Engineering; they are behind schedule with our project.  The timeline for the project was reviewed. Jes has a response to the State of Vermont in regards to their June 2017 “Notice of Violation Letter” and will send it out this week.


Other Business:

- The tank is due to be inspected spring 2018.

-Need to get Mark a copy of the “As Built” plans; Sara will get him a copy.

-Jes will update the O & M Manual; Sara will look for a copy and send it to him.


The next meeting is scheduled for January 8, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at the Town Clerk’s Office.


Motion made by Jes/Marshall to adjourn the meeting, all in favor, motion passed 2-0.
